What does desperation sound like?  What does desperation look like?

If you have ever witnessed someone truly desperate its usually not a pretty sight.  If you have ever been truly desperate for something then you understand exactly what I am saying.

if you want something bad enough become desperate enough to fight for it.

Right now there is so much that wants to push you around, hurt you and keep you from becoming all that God intended you to be.   Not necessarily because you are so great and wonderful but because dark things want to hurt God and anyone that wants God. As a result, maybe everything around you is hard and difficult and nothing seems to be going as it should be, maybe you aren’t getting the answers you want and feel alone and abandoned.  Maybe you’re just sick and tired of all the crap inside of you.

You are in the fight of your life.  The fight to become you.  The fight to honor and defend God, the fight to stand for something.  Sometimes things just happen and work out for good. However, a lot of times you have to dig it out, wrestle it out, fight and push through.

In moviemaking, there is a section of the script called the dark night of the soul. This is the part when the main character goes through the darkest moments of their life when all looks lost. It’s the moment when there will be a pivotal point of who they will become, whether they will emerge victorious, or whether all will be lost. This is the moment we are in right now. Therefore, we cannot take this lightly, we cannot just lay down and give in.

All through the Bible people had to fight for what they wanted, fight for who they would become.

Wrestle it out

Jacob wrestled with God all night to dig out who would become.

24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak.

26 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”

Pour yourself out

Hannah poured out from the depths of her soul to The Lord, and it was so messy Eli thought she was drunk.

“Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. 16 Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”

Hannah poured out from her “great anguish and grief”. This wasn’t a simple prayer this was a heart wrenching experience. This was desperate, this was raw.

Dig it out, Fight!

When you truly are desperate and in the fight of your life or just fighting for something you truly desire, you can’t give in, you can’t will yourself through it, or just put on a happy face and hope for the best, you have to dig deep and from those depths pour yourself out before the Lord. You cant rise up in your own strength and just gut it out. You need The Lord, and you need to crack open the depths of your heart and just pour! Fall apart, pound the floor, shout, scream, yell, cry, moan FIGHT!!!!  FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE!!! FIGHT TO BECOME ALL GOD DESERVES YOU TO BE.  FIGHT TO HONOR GOD. FIGHT FOR YOUR FAMILY! YOUR MARRIAGE, YOUR CHILDREN.   Let it become ugly. Let it become real. If you want something bad enough become desperate enough to fight for it.

Don’t just accept bad things, accept bad situations, accept junk in you, accept bad reports, accept circumstances. POUR YOURSELF OUT TO GOD, release from the depths within. Don’t just pray well-formed put together prayers, let it be ugly messy. Lay yourself before God and start to pour.
