Is This the End?

The Sky is Falling

God is saying “Hey you’re gonna hear stuff, it’s going to be scary, but don’t worry this stuff needs to happen and it’s not the end of the world.  Don’t be alarmed. Being alarmed will only get you off track.  Being alarmed will only open the door to fear and anxiety, and God has not intended for you to live afraid, worried, or anxious.  Instead, focus on God, and lean in harder towards Him.  Look up and see, really see who God is right this moment.  Not what people are saying about Him but who He really is.

Trust in the Lord.  Do not trust in the report of fear. Do not trust in the report of worry.  Do not trust in the report of scary end times fear invoking rhetoric.  Do not be connected to this way of thinking but be connected to God and His word and His Spirit.   Break away from the crowd that only wants to stir up drama.

Instead of being caught up in the worry of the end, get caught up in the good that God is doing, right now, this very moment. Right now, God is pouring out good despite what you may see and hear.  Despite what it may look like,  despite what others are saying, all day long, God is pouring out good. Don’t miss it because you’re distracted by the news of the day.

Is This Really the End?

The end might be near, but maybe not the end we are expecting. Maybe it’s the beginning of the end for a worthless powerless religion that produces nothing.  Maybe the dark forces at work on this earth are afraid, clawing, scratching, and stirring up drama, just because they know we are on the precipice of a mighty powerful movement of God that produces a people the likes of which the earth has never seen.

A people that God deserves, who wholeheartedly love God with everything they have. A people that aren’t just playing around with religion but have truly been transformed. They aren’t trying to decide if God is worth it, they are fully persuaded.  The beginning of a people that redefines what it means to be a Christian. A people who actually resemble and accurately represent God, who aren’t divided, who aren’t full of the corruption of this world.  A people that burn so brightly for God that darkness flees in their presence.

Maybe we are at the end, the end of weak Christianity that just gets by.  Maybe the end is near for churches that are more full of the world than the Kingdom of God, or preachers who preach a man-centered, powerless gospel that keeps God ineffective in people’s lives.  The end of a gospel that keeps people poor, sick, and broken down.  God deserves better than this.

Trust in God

So don’t be alarmed as some things will end or change. Perhaps God is about to do something brand new, completely beyond what we are expecting.  Maybe it’s time to stop listening to fear and start turning our hearts towards Heaven and anticipating something amazing.   

Regardless of what you see and hear, stand firm in God and do not waiver.  The atmosphere wants to get you worked up, anxious, afraid, because it’s afraid.   But God wants to fill you with hope, with life, with power to overcome.  He wants to do something amazing on this earth, but darkness wants you to believe otherwise.

Don’t be swept away by the crowd of fear and worry but be swept away by the power of God’s Presence.  Be swept away to a holy and secret place that shelters you from these storms, from these fearful reports.  Remain steadfast in God. He is amazing beyond what we can imagine. Do not be alarmed, stand firm in who He is right now.
